Neurosteroids—endogenously synthesized modulators of GABAergic inhibition—represent a promising, mechanismbased  alternative.  During  hormone-sensitive  phases  of  the  menstrual  cycle,  compounds  like  ganaxolone  may  help  restore <br>inhibitory balance and enhance seizure control. Its safety profile appears favorable, with only mild side effects.
